Step 1: Choose Your Path
Start your Code Platoon application via either our Standard Application or Guided Application. Then select the program and cohort that aligns best with your goals and schedule. Upcoming cohort dates and deadlines are listed on our calendar page.
Step 2: Tell us About Yourself
In Part One of your application, you’ll share your military background, coding experience, and funding preferences. This information helps us tailor our support to your specific needs.
Start thinking about using VA benefits or check if you qualify for a Code Platoon scholarship on our scholarship eligibility page.
Step 3: Showcase Your Skills and Passion
Part Two of your application is where you shine! This section includes coding exercises, short essays, and a video submission, allowing us to assess your coding knowledge, communication skills, and overall fit for our program. Just make sure to submit Part Two before your cohort’s application deadline.

If you need more confidence in your coding skills, fear not! Our self-paced Intro to Coding course is designed to set you up for success. This free online JavaScript course covers the essential coding concepts you’ll need to thrive in our program. If you are unsure about your existing level of coding skills, we created a short skills assessment to help you.
Admission Decisions on Your Schedule
We believe in giving everyone a fair chance to showcase their potential. That’s why we use a rolling admissions process, evaluating applications as they come in. If you’re accepted, you’ll be invited to one of our Kickoff Calls, marking the beginning of your exciting enrollment journey. (If your application isn’t accepted, we’ll provide you feedback and the chance to revise your submission or re-apply for a future cohort)
Your Smooth Transition to Bootcamp Success
The Kickoff Call will help you discover everything you need for a seamless transition into your Bootcamp. Following the call, our dedicated Enrollment team will be at your side to guide you through the process of applying for VA Education Benefits or scholarships, ensuring your financial needs are addressed. And if you need to discuss, change, or modify the way you attend Code Platoon at any time, we are ready to make the process as easy as possible. Just let us know.
Building a Solid Foundation: Programming Prep
Before you officially start your Bootcamp experience, you’ll have the opportunity to solidify your programming fundamentals through our Foundations of Programming course. This course is designed to help students reach a uniform skill level and will equip you with the essential knowledge and skills to hit the ground running. Additionally, you’ll receive comprehensive pre-work materials to ensure you’re fully prepared for the challenges and rewards that await you in your chosen program.
