Website Accessibility
We are committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including those with disabilities. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Code Platoon is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
If you have difficulty accessing any part of our website, please contact us for assistance at accessibility@codeplatoon.org. We welcome your suggestions and comments as we engage in ongoing efforts to improve the accessibility and usability of our website.
Classroom Accessibility
We regularly evaluate our Chicago classroom for compliance with the ADA, applicable state and local laws, and international standards. In addition, we work with the building management to survey the parking reserved for students and staff with disabilities, curb cuts and ramps, walkways, building entrances, elevators, and classroom access.
If you are having difficulty accessing our Chicago classroom, please contact us for assistance at accessibility@codeplatoon.org.
Students with disabilities
All lectures and presentations are recorded and available for audio and video playback. Closed captioning is available on recorded videos and during Zoom sessions.
ASL translators and basic transcriptions are available upon request.
We provide extended time on assessments for individuals with cognitive disabilities.
